Yay, client 4.4.4 released.
Mikael did the usual awesome job of fixing/optimizing some input processing-related issues.
You may now also use '!' in auto-inscriptions to force overwriting any previous inscription (even if it was a non-trivial one).
The character information screen that also goes into char dump files was slightly rearranged to allow for a 'Status' line which displays either of
- Alive
- Dead (ghost)
- Dead
- ***WINNER***
which will allow for example the char dump database on angband.oook.cz to sort in your char dump accordingly. (Use it more often to spread the word btw :-p)
Arrow keys now work in auto-inscription menu and in stat distribution menu (character creation).

The Ctrl-X bug has been fixed and all files have been updated. Everyone should re-download 4.4.4 from the downloads page.

Forgot to mention, 4.4.4 also has an (A)ccount option in '=' options menu, which allows you to change your password.

Client 4.4.4a released.

-Internal chat system improved regarding sorting in messages to chat-only/no-chat/scrollback windows, although probably hardly noticable.
-Fixed some outdated warning messages.
-Changes/additions regarding upcoming release of new Runemastery.
-Tues' patches for pasting items from within stores made it in (modified, to make them work smoothly without hardcoding stuff).
-Shop display glitch fixed when buying the last item of a page.

Fixed auto-inscriptions regarding # and empty inscriptions.
Fixed ! trigger in auto-inscriptions.

Added casting by name capabilities to quick'n'dirty macros (3.7b).

Added shift+K command to forcibly combine level 0 items with other items of the same type which aren't level 0. Be warned though that the resulting stack will be level 0 again, so you won't be able to trade the items anymore.

Visually improved pasting items to chat from within stores.

Skill menu won't queue up keypresses anymore.

Multi-key macros enabled.
Light-grey displayed as white instead of light-red.

-crash on certain linux systems fixed when picking up items with long names
-supports much longer item names (including inscriptions) than before, which also causes inscriptions to work fine which had previously been cut off due to length limit of the item name string.
-some changes for new runemastery
-couple of minor visual improvements in some menus

4.4.4d released.

Quick'n'dirty keys changed:
Runemastery is now R
Trapping is now P

This client version also provides necessary changes for using the new version of Runemastery, which experimentally goes live now.
Guide has also been updated and is included with the client as usual, so check (5.20) about runemastery.

We just released 4.4.4e, which is only a very minor update of 4.4.4d:

-Guide slightly updated
-s_mind.lua updated ('Confuse' spell is now named 'Confusion' to avoid collision with Mindcrafter school when casting spells by name)
-Character mode selection will be skipped when logging on to RPG servers, since they automatically change it to unworldly anyway.

Since lua files are updated automatically, and Guide can be viewed online, there's probably not much use for you to redownload 4.4.4e if you're already using 4.4.4d. Accordingly, 4.4.4d clients won't be marked as outdated by the server.

Client 4.4.5 released.

Audio system added:
The client now supports background music and sound effects!
It doesn't ship with any audio files except for paging beep (for systems on which paging otherwise wouldn't work) though.
You can download a sound and music addon pack here, and extract them to TomeNET/lib/xtra/ folder, so that you end up with a ../xtra/sound and a ../xtra/music folder, containing the audio substructure:

Note: Audio options were added in '=' menu, and you can hit CTRL+U to invoke a mixer screen, as well as CTRL+C to toggle music and CTRL+N to toggle all audio.

Other new features:
Options cleaned up.
.tomenetrc (in user's home folder) has been improved and is now read+written (Linux clients)
tomenet.ini improved and cleaned up (Windows clients)
Added T key for quick'n'dirty macros which allows easy mimicry macros, eg just T191 to polymorph into a grizzly bear
Internal timer on Windows machines has been improved, or rather, a workaround for Windows' sucky default timer has been implemented, allowing weather effects to go much smoother now.
Char names can now also be specified on the command-line, allowing complete auto-login.
Guide has been improved a lot.

If you don't want to overwrite your tomenet.ini file with the new version, edit your tomenet.ini in a text editor, and rename "[Angband]" to "[Base]" and "[MAngband]" to "[Online]", or you will be showered with errors when you try to run the client.

Also, if you don't use the new lib/user/options.prf, most audio options will be disabled; after you logged in you can just press = 2 (User Interface Options 2) and enable them manually. Don't forget to save them afterwards.

Client 4.4.5a released. Two improvements have been made:
1) New players will get a one-time popup box telling them about music & sound.
2) The loading delay when starting the game has been eliminated.
